Adult Social Care Transport Policy - draft

Overview

Adult Social Care in North Northamptonshire is reviewing its approach to transport, creating a policy to ensure we offer a fair and consistent approach. 

Transport usage for social care has increased significantly since 2021, prompting a review into how we manage the offer. We want to ensure that we are able to offer a transport service that is equitable, and in place only for those who need it. 

Our Adult Social Care Strategy 2024-29 commits us to enabling people and not leaning upon prescribed services where encouraging independence, and focussing on strengths, would lead to better outcomes. 

We want to be clear with our approach to transport and live up to our value of being customer-focused. 

A policy, and review, around how we manage transport for social care provisions is therefore required to ensure we continue to deliver value, are as efficient as possible, and move further towards delivering a modern service. 

We would like to understand people’s views on a number of areas related to Social Care Transport. Your feedback will help us form the new draft policy going forward. 

Transport, in this regard, is that which is commissioned for, or directly provided to, recipients of social care who are eligible under the Care Act 2014. 

Your feedback will be part of a report with many other people’s feedback, so you will not be personally identified.
