Overview
North Northamptonshire Council own and manage the public parking at Corby Rail Station. The management and charges are regulated under a Road Traffic Regulation Order. The Order and the associated legislation sets out which vehicles may park, the way spaces should be used and the costs of duration of parking. The Order allows the Council to review and vary the charges from time to time.
The Council has considered the feedback received during a pre-consultation exercise, which closed on 2nd August. The pre-consultation received 90 responses which expressed the need for an off-peak tariff and options for parking charges, alongside the need for additional parking spaces. The Council propose to bring public parking charges at Corby station into line with other pay and display station car parks across the wider Council area. For other train station car park charges, which are not operated by the Council, visit the East Midlands Railway website.
The following tariffs are proposed for the parking of vehicles permitted to park at Corby Station under the Order:

The introduction of an off-peak rate featured within the pre-consultation feedback. Inclusion of this is supported and should be offered as a simplistic model to aid users and avoid confusion where possible and consistent with other local offers.
The proposed rates are:
Monday to Friday - 10.00am to 02.30am | £5.00 |
Saturday and Sunday anytime | £5.00 |
Bank holidays anytime | £5.00 |
To help reduce any local burden and increase safety for users of the site we are proposing to:
- make the section of the entrance/ exit one way
- creating additional spaces along the left-hand side of the car park as you drive in, approximately 12 new spaces are proposed
The parking charges have remained at their current levels for several years. There is no formal requirement to consult under the Order however the Council would be prepared to hear from existing or potential users of the car park about these proposals. All representations will be considered by the Assistant Director of Assets and Environment, after 3 November 2024. The future level of charge will remain within the discretion of the Council. A formal notice of any change made to parking charges under the Order will then be issued. Any change to the parking charges will come into effect on Monday 2 December 2024. Any changes to the entrance/exit and the additional parking spaces will be scheduled into our future work plans and will commence as soon as practically possible.
This consultation closes at 23.59 on 3 November 2024.
