Potential Tree Removal: 65 Roche Way, Wellingborough
Overview

Street Tree Removal Notice at 65 Roche Way, Wellingborough
Following a recent inspection four trees have been identified for potential removal as they have been found to be contributing to subsidence damage to private property. The current damage is due to differential foundation movement exacerbated by moisture abstraction from vegetation growing proximate to the property’s foundations. Roots recovered from the underside of foundations have been identified as having emanated from the trees.
Whilst pruning (if repeated on a 3-year (max) basis) can be an alternative to removal, it is one with a high residual risk of future movement; it is considered the above vegetation is too large and/or close for pruning to be viable in this instance.
The report can be viewed via the Council website.
Residents and stakeholders are invited to submit comments before a final decision is taken. Should the proposal proceed, works are expected to be completed within 8 weeks of the 1st March 2026, following the conclusion of the consultation.
