Public Spaces Protection Order - Kettering extension to November 2023

Overview

The Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) relating to dog control in Kettering is due to end on 30 August 2023. North Northamptonshire Council is in the process of reviewing the existing PSPOs in place from the previous authorities of East Northamptonshire and Wellingborough, which are due to end in November 2023.

North Northamptonshire Council intends to create a new PSPO relating to dog control across the whole authority area, to come into force in November 2023. In order to ensure Kettering can continue to maintain enforcement control of its existing order it is necessary to extend it until November 2023.

The extension to Kettering’s PSPO is to solely extend the end date from 30 August 2023 to 12 November 2023. No existing conditions are proposed to be changed.

Throughout 2023 the new PSPO will be developed and will be subject to a two-stage public and statutory consultation process, where we urge residents to have their say on the proposals.
