Overview

Help shape the future of public health services for children, young people and families, and sexual health in North Northamptonshire.

We're launching an important survey to gather your thoughts on proposed changes to some of our public health services, and we need your valuable input.

Building on your previous feedback

In 2023, we conducted surveys on our services for children, young people and families (0-19 years), and sexual health. Your responses were crucial in shaping our understanding of how these services are accessed and experienced. This information formed a key part of our Health Needs Assessment for North Northamptonshire. This is a thorough review that helps us to identify and address the health needs of our diverse community.

Your voice matters

We've used your previous feedback to guide the redesign of these services. As we approach the launch of new provisions from 1st April 2025, we need your input again. This survey is designed to gather your thoughts on proposed changes, including:

  • Targeted support for vulnerable parents and parents-to-be. (Our current service offer is limited to first time pregnant women under the age of 18).

  • A dedicated service model for 11–19-year-olds with a focus on the specific needs of young people, recognising these are different to younger children. (Our current model is integrated for children aged 0-19).

  • Refined focus on supporting children identified as being above the healthy weight range through the National Child Management Programme (NCMP).

  • Introducing an easy-to-use online platform for parents and families to find early help and support.  Our current model does not include this feature.

  • Improved access to sexual health services through an increased outreach offer alongside a centralised clinic and local community sites (a hub and spoke model).

  • Improved sexual health communication and engagement in our vulnerable communities.

  • Increased support with Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) for young people.

  • Digital options for testing sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV

  • Increased availability of emergency contraception and long-acting reversible contraception.
