Term Dates for North Northamptonshire schools for the 2027-28 academic year

Overview

North Northamptonshire Council is now consulting on the proposed term dates for Community and Voluntary Controlled schools for the 2027-28 academic year.

The consultation will run from Monday 17 November 2025 – Wednesday 31 December 2025.

Please note that Academies, Free, Foundation and Voluntary Aided schools can set their own term dates, although they may choose to adopt those used by the local authority.

The proposed term dates for 2027-28 are as follows:

Autumn term 2027

Wednesday 1 September to Friday 17 December 2027

• Half term holiday: Monday 25 October to Friday 29 October 2027
• Christmas holiday: Monday 20 December 2027 to Friday 31 December 2027

Spring term 2028

Tuesday 4 January to Friday 31 March 2028

• Half term holiday: Monday 14 February to Friday 18 February 2028
• Easter holiday: Monday 3 April to Thursday 13 April 2028
• Bank holidays: Friday 14 April and Monday 17 April 2028

Summer term 2028

Tuesday 18 April to Friday 21 July 2028

• Half term holiday: Tuesday 30 May to Friday 2 June 2028
• Summer holiday: Monday 24 July to Thursday 31 August 2028
• Bank holidays: Monday 1 May and Monday 29 May 2028

The total number of pupil days includes five days to be selected by schools as additional INSET days.

Pupil days: 190 school days

Teacher days: 195 school days
