The strategy will focus on accessibility, funding, usage, future provision and active travel within NNC play area only.

Play supports the happiness and health of children and offers people and children the opportunity to socialise. Play facilities enable active places for people of all ages. Well-designed play spaces enhance the design of streets and open spaces. They work well combined with open, green spaces and other green infrastructure provision.  Play areas should be easy to find and access using safe and direct active travel routes. Active travel routes that link to primary schools may particularly be suitable for including play features.

We have been liaising with Sport England and Northamptonshire Sport about their views, and we are now seeking feedback from residents and other stakeholders to help shape the strategy and ensure it responds to local needs.  You can have your say and share your feedback via the survey link below.

We will use your feedback to shape the draft Play Area Strategy which will be formally consulted on at a later date, prior to being put before Executive for adoption.

This survey closes at 23.59 on 21 June 2026.
