North Northamptonshire Local Plan - Scoping Consultation
Overview
North Northamptonshire Council is required to prepare a local plan to guide development and growth in our area - everything from homes and jobs to schools and infrastructure. It must also support conservation and enhancement of the natural, built, and historic environment and include measures to address climate change.
North Northamptonshire Council is preparing a new Local Plan for the area to be known as the North Northamptonshire Local Plan.
The North Northamptonshire Local Plan will provide the strategic framework for development and make allocations to meet the development needs for the area. It will provide the strategy for development for the period 2024-2045, with the spatial vision for achieving sustainable growth extending beyond this. It will review and replace the North Northamptonshire Joint Core Strategy and the Part 2 Local Plans, which were all adopted between 2016 and 2023.
You can view the Notice of Intention to commence the Local Plan via the NNC website, together with the timetable.
We are now consulting on the scope of the Local Plan. The Scoping Consultation is the first stage in preparing the new plan, no decisions have been made yet. At this stage the council is inviting comments on the proposed scope and contents of the new Local Plan and how we will approach future Local Plan engagement.
This consultation is an opportunity for all those with an interest in how North Northamptonshire will develop and look in the future to have their say.
