The Workplace Health and Wellbeing team is a part of Public Health Northamptonshire.  The team offers evidence based programmes for improving employee health and wellbeing.

The team offers flexible support and guidance for businesses to assess need, to develop and implement workplace health and wellbeing programmes that are best suited to the needs of their employees.

The Workplace Wellbeing team, in consultation with private, public and voluntary businesses and organisations across Northamptonshire, has also developed the Northamptonshire Workplace Wellbeing Standards. Workplaces that attain these standards are awarded the Northamptonshire Workplace Wellbeing Charter – a mark of best practice in workplace health and wellbeing.

Research has consistently shown that workplace health and wellbeing is key for both the personal wellbeing of individual employees and workforce productivity, which translates into improved profitability for the business.

The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) Health and Wellbeing Survey for 2021 highlighted a number of trends, nationally, and across the private, public and voluntary sectors, about workplace health and wellbeing. In particular, the report highlights the impact of COVID-19 on workplace health and wellbeing.

According to the CIPD, the aim of their research was to provide readers with a benchmarking and information resource for improving wellbeing in the workplace.

Public Health Northamptonshire would like to understand current and emerging practice in health and wellbeing practice across Northamptonshire. Better understanding of current and emerging practice will enable the team to provide high quality support and guidance for local employers across the county to improve the health and wellbeing of their employees.
