Permitted development rights allow certain types of building work or changes of use without the need for planning permission. An Article 4 Direction allows a local planning authority to withdraw certain permitted development rights, so that planning permission is required.
North Northamptonshire Council has made a non-immediate Article 4 Direction covering parts of Kingswood, Corby. The Direction withdraws the permitted development right to convert houses (planning use class C3) to houses in multiple occupation (planning use class C4), meaning that this type of development will require planning permission from the date that the Direction comes into force.
The Notice of Article 4 Direction, including a map of the area to which the Direction applies, has been published for consultation for a period of six weeks between Monday 24 April and Monday 5 June 2023. Paper copies of the Notice of Direction and supporting evidence are also available for inspection at the Council offices and libraries listed below during normal opening hours. For full details of library opening times visit Library service - Libraries (northamptonshire.gov.uk).
