Wellingborough & Rushden Area Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan – Final stage
Overview
Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plans (LCWIP) provide a strategic approach to identifying cycling and walking improvements at a local level. They enable a long-term approach to developing local cycling and walking networks for the next ten years. They also form a vital part of the Government’s strategy to increase the number of trips made on foot or by cycle.
The approach that has been taken to develop the LCWIP is summarised within a background information document.
Following engagement activities in May 2024 on the draft LCWIP for Wellingborough and Rushden areas, feedback and views have been taken into consideration. 19 of the 29 proposals have seen amendments to the plans. Many of these changes were suggestions to improve upon the previously identified proposals including the removal of proposals to amend the existing car parking alignment in Irthlingborough to widen the footway and discourage overhanging parked vehicles.
We are now seeking views on the final draft Wellingborough and Rushden Local Cycling and Walking Infrastructure Plan, via the survey link below.
